Hard worker

Carter got to go to work with Matt on Saturday because I had three weddings to work. I think he really likes hanging out with Matt and Caleb. So this is Caleb (Matt's employee) working hard and Carter is 'supervising', probably bossing. He has been sounding bossy lately, especially talking to Wolf. So I don't think Carter was a lot of help yet, but at least he wasn't sitting down on the job. :)

The Apple doesn't fall too far...

We all know the saying 'the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree', but I didn't really realize how true it is in our family! I didn't crop the first picture so you could see what's in Carter's left hand. :) Nothing like being prepared! (in case you can't tell, it's a little corn-cob pipe) I would just like to clarify to anyone who is reading this, that we do not smoke around our child (I don't even smoke at all), nor do we encourage under-age tobacco use. The pipe used in this picture does not have tobacco in it and is only a 'toy' to Carter. Please smoke responsibly.

Mikayla and Jeremiah

This is my sister Mikayla and her boyfriend Jeremiah. They came over last weekend after we took them out to dinner for her birthday (talk about better late than never, her birthday was in July!). We had a great time at dinner then when we got back they persuaded Matt to play some of his songs for them. He even wrote some new ones. ;) We were all having a great time..., then my 'dad' showed up! It is actually just Matt dressed up as my dad, but the resemblance is scary! Then they (the boys) decided to plan a 'skit' about my dad to 'perform' on Sunday when we went over to my parent's house for the family birthday party. Needless to say my dad got a big kick out of it. Good thing he can laugh at 'himself'. ;)

Happy Birthday Mom

I know that this is the same picture that I have already posted, but I guess I am not very good at taking pictures of my mom. Sorry mom.

So today is my mom's birthday. No, I won't tell how old you are, but I will say you look really good for your age. (I would like to think I had something to do with that) ;) She is a very busy lady. Today, on her birthday, she is having parent-teacher conferences all morning then going to coach a volleyball tournament all afternoon and evening. Crazy huh? Well I hope you have a good day despite how busy you are!

We love you!

Grandmas are great at spoiling!

Grandma Meek came over the other day after her volleyball game in the area (she coaches), and she brought a surprise for Carter. His first ice cream cone! I'm sure Matthew will read this and tell me "he's had an ice cream cone before", but this is the first one that I know about. :) He had a great time with it and really wasn't all that messy. Notice I don't have a bib on him. So I guess this is another milestone for Carter saying that he is no longer a baby. He is officially a toddler. (kinda sad)

Happy Birthday Jeffery!

So this is actually a day late, but better late than never right? Carter's cousin Jeffery turned 1 yesterday. We are going to celebrate with him (and all the other October birthdays in the family) on Sunday when we go to Pizza Street for lunch. Apparently that was his choice. ;) Cassie said he isn't walking yet, but will take a few steps by himself, so I'm sure it will be any time now.

Happy 1st Birthday kiddo!
